The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and pollen is on the loose. It must be the end of the academic year again. And with the last day of classes and the start of final exams comes anticipation for the joys of summer vacation. Who doesn't yearn for the feel of sunshine on their skin, warm breezes in their hair, sand between their toes and salt water accidentally entering your mouth? Just listen to this mix tape of relaxing, sunny songs to help you enjoy the warm weather on lazy afternoons.

Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles:
This song will melt those last bits of
winter away and warm you right up.

If It's Loving that You Want - Rihanna:
This song was Rihanna's second single off her first album, Music of the Sun. The Caribbean flavor just makes you feel good.

Soak Up the Sun - Sheryl Crow:
Once you start listening to this song you'll find yourself humming and tapping with Sheryl.

Kokomo - The Beach Boys:
The first thing you may think of when hearing this song is the Muppets' rendition. But you should listen to the lyrics and picture yourself soaking up some sun in the Caribbean.

Bidi Bidi Bom Bom - Selena:
The queen of Tejano knows how to make you relax. You'll be singing along and swaying to the easy beat.

I Want Candy - Bow Wow Wow:
This cover of the Strangeloves hit is essential to any summer mix, especially if you're looking to add a touch of 80s new wave.

Good Day Sunshine - The Beatles:
The Beatles just know how to make a great song out of a sunny day. George Martin really adds some happy with the piano.

Paradise - LL Cool J Featuring Amerie:
This song has a great beat, nice bass and Amerie's smooth voice. Just enjoy.

Build Me Up Buttercup - The Foundations:
There's something about this upbeat, sad song that's just plain fun.

Cape Cod Kwasa Kwasa - Vampire
Weekend:
The boys of Vampire Weekend are self proclaimed "Upper West side Soweto." And their love for African pop and Western classical music is apparent in buoyant, rhythmic songs like this.

Under the Boardwalk - The Drifters:
This song brings up happy memories of past summer beach ventures.

Summertime - DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince:
"Summer summer summertime/ time to sit back and unwind", says it all.

Lovin' You - Minnie Riperton:
This song really has nothing to do with summer. It's just relaxing and warming. The birds chirping are a reference to Minnie's phenomenal angelic voice, which hits some incredibly high notes in this tune.

Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffet:
You can't have a summer mix without some Jimmy Buffet.

(Sittin On) the Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding:
The ocean sounds and Otis's smooth, soulful voice really make this classic, lazy tune all the more amazing. It's essential to any summer mix.
